Binsar Sanctuary Tour (23 kms. one way)
Tour covers visit to the dense Oak & Rhododendron forest, which also is a house to hundreds of birds. A paradise for the bird watchers. This forest is blessed with medicinal plants and herbs. Ramgarh, Kumaon Hills
Ramgarh is a picturesque hamlet in the heart of orchard land at the foothills of the Himalayas, located 25 kms from Nainital. Many writers and thinkers have been drawn to the beauty of Ramgarh. It is an ideal place for long walks, to let your creative juices flow or just unwind or introspect. This is the place where Rabindranath Tagore was inspired to write his Nobel Prize-winning collection of poems, Gitanjali.
Located northwest of Ranikhet, Dwarahat is an important tourist center of Kumaon. It was once ruled by the powerful Katyuri rulers in the 16th century but became a part of the Chand Dynasty later on.
From an archaeological as well historical point of view, Dwarahat is an important town. It is famous for a cluster of 55 temples, having distinct architecture worth seeing. One can also find lots of ancient sculptures here. The famous Syalde- Bikhotoi Mela of Kumaon is held here from 13th to 1st of April every year.
Dwarahat is situated at a distance of 38 kms from Ranikhet.
The temple is situated at a height of 2116 mts. above sea level which is famous for its caves and Shiva temple, Jalna. At a height of above 5500 feet, Jalna provides a wide panoramic view of the Himalayas. A number of orchards seen around here produce a variety of fruits such as apricots, peaches, pears, plums and apples.
Katarmal is a must for history lovers. It houses the famous Sun Temple built by the Katyuri Rajas some 800 to 900 years ago, atop a steep hill.
